Default Knock in higher RPMs

Im was considering trading my camaro for a 96 lt1 ws6 trans am, the motor was replaced with a lt1 that came out of a 95 camaro that aparently had 55k miles.

The owner put a cc306 cam in with the pushrods that came in a package, he said it needed a tune and someone told him he needed a crank relearn.

The car is cam only with shorty headers and he said ran like ****, so a guy came over and swaped his computer out with another computer tuned a little bit more to the cars specs.

but now he said the car in the higher rpms has a knock coming from the top of the block, he said hes bent a push rod before and thinks that might be whats causing it now. this just started happening after the tune. and hes only put a 1xx miles on the new block.

So lt1 boys, what do yall think this could be? if its something simple I might be joining the lt1 club

It all depends where the sound is coming from. If it is under the valve covers then it could be a bent pushrod or the rockers could not be adjusted properly that what i would check first. Also get a tune for that car with the cam and other mods even a mail order tune

maybe too much timing in the higher RPMS? loose valve train from reving high? lets hear some sound clips of the "knock".

well i went and heard it myself and its very quiet, almost just sounds like the injectors working.. cuz it has a new tune on it, it could be the injectors working harder? I don't think its even a problem sound, he said its got power loss when going up a hill only under this tune. Im thinking it just need a good tune.

He said he thinks theres water in the oil, like a very small small amount but the headgaskets are brand new. could the head bolts not be torqued down all the way?

Also 10w 40 isnt the right oil for a lt1 is it?
