I know this post is a little old, however, CNC built me a stroker SBC 427 short-block assembly a few years back (Dart Little-M block, Dragon-slayer crank, CompStar rods and JE pistons). They did an outstanding job with the machine work and and build-up! The engine now has three race seasons on it, runs N/A 8.90s in my tube-chassis Cavalier and doesn't use a drop of oil. Clint Anderson and his people at CNC do very good work!

So you resurrected a year old post to, what get a discount on your next purchase?

I bought a set of 1.65 CAT rockers from them years ago before I did heads and cam and when I contacted them to say they were 1.6 MEASURED despite the 1.65 markings they really didn't care. Granted they didn't make the rockers and I am glad most folks haven't had any problems but it would make me wonder how they handle thing when problems do occur.

He dredged up a year old dead post and this was only his second post since 2009......................................

Pretty basic math lead me to that conclusion.

It was not an LT1 build or anything............................

Its a free country to do basically as we please. If you dont want this kind of stuff to happen or want to control what people do make your own forum... then you can be as socialist as you want and control everything anyone does or can do.

You do realize that you don't HAVE to post about someone bringing up an old thread right?
Besides telling someone that they have brought one back "From the dead" you insult them as if they were trying to get something out of it, like a discount. Have some tact man. Having a shred of tact will go very far...

I buy whatever I can from CNC because they usually have lower prices then other vendors and they are a state away from me so I get my parts fast.

Default CNC Motorsport

When you buy a motor from cnc it comes with spec sheet , the specs were not even close to what things were .I got a 427 sbc the Mains were to tight had to replace all Main Bearings, deck was NOT Squared , had to square, Ring gap was all over the place , Had to adjust ring clearance. Pistons were not Balanced 4 grams different between Pistons, had to correct that. The only thing we did't have to fool with was the rods . So I bought a short Block , then had to take all apart spend a few thousand at Machine shop now it ok, SO THE MORAL OF STORY IS STAY AWAY FROM CNC MOTORSPORTS. They don't care about you , just your CASH !!!!

Default Cnc motorsports sux

I bought a sbc 427 short block, it came with spec sheet, there wasn't one measurement correct, block wasn't squared, the mains were to tight had to replace mains, ck Ring gap all had to be refitted Looked like they just stuck ring on piston stuck them in block, the cylinders were not smooth al all ,had to torque plate hone, Basicly had to clean spray wash block to tear down complete short block and spend 7000 in machine work & parts squaring deck to mains, New Mains deck height, hone cylinders, polish crank, Balance Rotating assemble, then Rebuild Now with 9-1 compression on dyno we got 510hp without turbo. This is going to run twin turbo that's y compression so low. SO THE MORAL OF THIS STORY IS CNC MOTORSPORTS IS NOT WHERE YOU WANT TO GET YOUR SHORT BLOCK. IT WOULD OF BEEN CHEAPER IF I BOUGHT ALL PARTS AND LET MACHINE SHOP BUILD MOTOR.

I had a 540 built and the thing wouldn't run on there Dyno so they called and asked what al box I had in my truck. The dumb ***** had a al6 box hooked to a procharger 540. Water pump bolts fell out on the Dyno spraying water all over. Then told me the carb was junk and I should buy a different brand. The c&s carb sucks they said. Funny thing is there spose to be a dealer for them. That's nice!! In the end that day they said f this thing I'm done! So I drove back home to Madison lake mn. And had talked to Chris on the phone a few times and they said they where going to send the carb back to get looked at then would be calling to have me come done and Re Dyno the motor. They never called till after the motor was off the dyno. Then I talked to chris and he said it was his choose to not have me there. Told me he would send a video of the motor running. I asked if he wanted a video of the rest of the money! And told him hay guy I wanted to see it on the Dyno Seeing we had all the problems on the Dyno the last time with air fuels going in the 16s and wanted to do a leak down on the motor! And seven pulls on the dyno wih exhaust falling off or water pump bolts falling out from the dirty shake this thing had. So now I'm taking them to court. Pass the word there terrible at what they do and can not be trusted.
