Default more 292xfi cam questions

since comp rpm ranges are off, what will it take to make the 292xfi work good
i already have cam but should i get a custom. comp says ill be good to 6500 on hyd roller lifters. this is my set up for sure
compstar rotating assemb 383
12.1 compression
tfs 185x heads said to flow around 275 at 600
58 tb ported intake
longtube no cats magnaflow exhaust
3.42 gear 6 speed
the 342 puts me at 6400rpm in 3rd going threw the traps so i should be ok there should this be enough for 400rwhp.

A lot of cubes, compression, gear, and rpms.

Why not spec your cam for the setup instead of the other way around.

Since your running a 383 I'd be more concerned about opening those 185cc heads up.

Send the heads to AI/LE or somone for some cc's. 205,210cc will do with a 383 for good power, than get a custom cam.

Get a gear in the car tho, so much to gain by some little money (400!!)

the intake runner on my 396 are 195 and they work well, good balance of low/mid/high, that XFI cam will probably need 6800 or more even with a 383 IMO

I've got a 383 with Trickflow 185cc heads on it and that thing is fun to drive on the street and torquey as hell. I've got power everywhere!! It probably does peak at little early though I would imagine I have yet to get it on a dyno to see what's happening there. However I have a MUCH smaller cam which is better tailored for these heads IMO.
