Default How much can block/heads be milled before bolt holes and intake holes don't line up

I might be converting my LE1 heads to LE3 heads. The LE1 heads got milled maybe .003(I think, it was 5 years ago) the first time. I have since put 30000 miles on these heads so I can only guess they will need to be smoothed out again. So I'm kind of worried I may need to mill my heads again.

So anybody know how much the heads can be milled before you run into problems with the intake manifold to cylinder head bolts no longer lining up? Also keep in mind I had my block zero decked, I think that was .003 as well.

Also as long as the intake and head bolt holes do line up, is it a pretty safe bet that the intake and head holes(now I'm talking about where the air flows through) should be lining up? Hope this last paragraph doesn't sound to confusing.

you can mill them a lot. Dont worry. If for some reason they dont, you can always elongate the bolt holes. .030" you can mill approx and they will still line up

Like they said above. who ever dose the heads and the intake can correct the intake for the mill. ask them about that for sure.

Well that means he is going to need to set the whole long block and I am just paying him to do just the shortblock. I just needed a simple answer to see if I should ok. Thanks to the guy that gave me an answer.
