Goodyear Hose Kit
any of you guys bought this coolant hose kit for your car?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GTR-5006/
does it look ridiculous under the hood since they are blue?
i really would like to buy all new hoses since mine have seen better days and the parts stores only carry the upper and lower rad. hoses.

You can still buy the heater hoses from GM for about 100 bucks and then buy the uper, lower and bypass hose from where ever. I bought that hose kit and in order to redo the heater hoses you have to cut all the aluminum fittings and reuse the aluminum parts with out damaging them. I have better things to do than sit around for an hour or two tring not to F something up and that includes my back. I just used the upper, lower and bypass hose and called it a day. I will buy the gm heater hose later and it can be swapped and system refilled in about 30min.

yea i was afraid they would look stupid.
i will have to try napa and carquest. the two i need the most are the heater hoses.. they are so soft and brittle they keep breaking and won't seal.
i think i priced them at gm and they want ~$150...they can keep it!!

Hey:
Go and buy the Goodyear kit, the hoses are very good quality, better than stock or most replacements. Just do as I did and put something over them, those hoses don't break down over time like others do. I have had them on my Camaro for over 10 yrs and still just as pliable as new. My Caprice has the green ones with over 300,000 miles on them. It is the best $100 plus dollars you'll spend on your car. Then you don't have to worry about hose problems for a very long while. Goodyear Hose Kit + nylon sheathing in your fav color better/cheaper > than crappy hose that last a few years or leave you stranded somewhere, when the radiator hose dies in the middle of the expressway, in the middle of nowhere, on your way to a meet on a 100+ degree day 20 miles from the next exit, it happens. Just Make sure you have a 95-97 LTX without the radiator Y going to the bleeder, 96-97 don't have to worry about this only early 95s do. Otherwise you'll have to upgrade your bleeder pipe to the newer type (single, no T) or block it off on if you have that type. Bleeder pipe should look like pic below. This has the Goodyear kit on all but 2 hoses, both on heater side of bleeder (blk hose in pic) put new blk Goodyear hose on one just prior to purchase of Goodyear blue Hi Miler kit. Both comes with this kit just haven't needed to replace them yet. The other was new factory hose when engine was changed to LT4, Can you tell it is blue underneath on the others?
