i have used them twice now and they are pretty good, the only down fill with any mail order tune i think they make it a little to rich. I'm running rich right now but waiting to get a real dyno tune for full potential

Ive always had good luck with them, they do set it a little rich. My LE2 383 was running 11.5:1 most of the time. My 355 was dead nuts on both motors ran great on their tunes. For cam only or common h/c car on a stock shortblock I wouldnt hesitate with their tunes at all.

I have pcmforless and Fastchips tuning for my 96 LT1. I went to the dyno and run Fastchips first and made 324.9hp 323.5tq.I switched in the pcmforless and made 301.4hp and 298.6tq.Pcmforless cost me 175.00 and Fastchips cost me 350.00.The Ed Wright tuning , aka fastchips was better and was just about spot on,just a tad rich. 96 Impala with ported heads cam and all bolt ons with a Edge 2800 and 373 gears.

Out of curiosity who do you use now?
I have used PCMforless with good results. I have heard really good things from people about Ed Wright but no personal experience. Once had a MadTuner tune that was absolute garbage but besides my misfortune people have good things to say about him too.

Like said above, full potential almost never is realized because it also has to be safe, and without a dyno, and a wideband that isnt possible.
Bryan has great customer service. Usually about a day and he turns it around for you. Frost is also another good one i hear. Do your searching on here, and decide for yourself.

I used Bryan Herter great guy not trying to cause a fight or anything^^^^... Two days ago he met me in the pooring rain to reset my tune for the 410 gears I installed. After doing so talked to me in the rain about my future plans for the car. He's tunes several of my friends car and they have all been very happy.

i got a dyno tune by bryan about 3 years ago and i was very satisfied. paid for 3 pulls and got 2 freebies because he felt there was more in it plus some adjustments afterward to help the with the street manners so definitely no complaints here. i have a friend who did the mail order tune and we were both suprised at how accomodating pcm4less was with any tweaks and changes afterward.

I had some OK tunes from Bryan and some that weren't. A few of my friends have had issues with his stuff too. I don't use him anymore. Now that I have a LS1, I do my own. I don't have faith in any tuners. If my car is only going to run half way decent, then I'll save my money and make it run half way decent myself.

i used to use herter also , then i saw his tune when i got my own tuning software ... i told him everything on the car and he still butchered it
i told him #30 injectors and part numbers , he scaled the **** outta the stock #24,s instead of doin it right
timing lololol . im suprised it didnt puke when i was on the jug
shift points .all wrong
granted its mail order and so on buttttt done use the same cookie cutter tune on everybodys **** , and he does as 4 others have used my software with diff setups and the tune was the same on all of them

I'm having Ion at Madtuner do mine. We'll see in a couple days how it runs. Not to threadjack, but i'm sure the OP would be interested as well. Can you use freescan by itself for data-logging? Just want to be able to see how well the tune was done afterward.

When I had gm846/old ported heads I started out with a pcmformless tune. When I got dyno tuned by Formato he ended up taking 5 degrees of timing out of it (down to 38 from 43) and had to richen it up about 1/2 a point. I'm lucky I caught it before detonation killed my motor. The 30rwtq gain down low was just a bonus.

I have sold individual pistons/rods to a few guys who did not catch it as fast as you did.
