Default injectors too big causing to run like crap?

ok so i just recently did some changes to my car, went from a 220 230 on a 114 spead with a blower on 6 pounds with 42 pound injectors to:

removed the blower and sold it and installed a 236 242 on a 112 spread fully ported heads and intake long tubes ORY on 9:1 compression and i left the injectors in it thinkin maybe the next retune they can set them down but as of right now it is tuned on a new pcmforless computer and it runs like complete crap.

symptoms: runs warm 220 to 230 but never goes any farther used to run 170 to 180 all day long beating on it, spits and pops and backfires when cruising, and at WOT feels like the e brake is on and its got two plug wires pulled.

had one code of " emissions evaporative system incorrect purge flow"
and also gets around 6 to 8 miles to the gallon.

injectors too big?

what could be the problem need some ideas to start with i havent tried much yet because i dont know a whole ton about these cars and dont want to ruin anything it only has 9000 original miles so id like to keep it and make it last but still haul ***!

any help would be awesome!

the injectors alone will not make the car run like crap. The computer compensates with pulsewidth so as long as it is the correct injector constant in the tune. That being said a shitty tune coupled with low compression (NA wise) will make the car run like crap. Especially going from 6lbs of boost to a low compression NA with a mail order tune I bet you are pulling your hair out

That 236 242 on a 112 with low compression is not going to help, either. You're going to need a good dyno tune to get it back to where it needs to be. Bob

Not completely sure I understand, but is the tune you are running now set for 42lb injectors?

No those are not too big for a H/C setup, my friend ran Ford #39s on his cam only LT1 with no issues, they aren't far off from the 42lbs. Your compression and the mail order tune is causing your issues. That cam belongs in a high compression stroker (11 to 1 or higher)

yea i know the compression is kickin me in the *** but it was built for boost, it had a powerdyne crap *** blower on it and it wouldnt make more than 6 pounds even with the 10 pound pulley so i sold it and got this cam so next year it will be ready for the F1. but in the mean time i just want to drive it.

its a crower crank oliver rod je piston bottom end 378 cid the pistons have a +31cc full dish!!!!!!!! so i cant really get much more comp out of it.

so should i keep the injectors in and go get it dyno tuned or slap some 32's in there that are laying in my garage??

or should i go back to my old cam until the new blower arrives?
