Default LS1 Air Lid Finished! PICS/VIDEO!

So I just finished my LS1 Air Lid modification and I must say I am HIGHLY impressed with the results and more than happy with the way it looks! What do you think?

This video was against a 404 RWHP 2002 SS Camaro with 4.10's. You see him drop beack a couple times cause of his clutch, but you get the idea! This was done in Mexico of course...

we raced before the lid but I was also on a bad tune and he still had no clutch...it was also from a roll and I had him by a fender he said...but thats not the point of the video...its more to show how a 400hp LT1 can keep up on the top end with an equivalent hp LS1...

LS1's are known for pulling on LT1's on the top end since LT1's are faster on the low end and LS1's are faster on the top end....With this guy I am pulling on him on top end which in MY opinion is impressive...HOWEVER I DO have ALOT more done than he does so I had better pull on him lmao. He just has a big cam and he's forged with intake, exhaust, and gears with a sketchy clutch and he put down 404 RWHP with 380+ RWTQ (he didnt remember an exact number) and I put down 401 RWHP with 371 RWTQ.

I wanna try it from a dig when he has a better clutch but that might be a while...

Good job, i was wondering when you would do it.. I promised you it would make a significant difference to your setup....

Now you are gonna get the doubters again...Did you dyno it with and without, did you race the same car, were the planets all lined up when you ran?

Kudos bro you got it done, how do you like the top end pull?

How much did you have to take off of the base to get it to fit under your ss hood?

looks really clean man. I really noticed a difference in the bottom end, mainly 1st and 2nd, and also big time on the top end too. No wonder why they went to it for the ls cars instead of the around and under the corner crap that our cars have. Again, nice clean install dude.

Lol, whats wrong with a Blaster 2 Coil?? It used to have an MSD Heavy Duty coil there but it went out and I needed a replacment....it works lol

I love the pull, it feels GREAT! I cant wait to get a new dyno and see what the gains are if any actual gains are there!

I will be taking it back to the dyno this week hopefully just to see what it did.

Thanks for the compliments, I worked REALLY hard on this thing to get it in here AND make it look good. I will take better pics of my frame, base, hood and lid modifications after I get back from work on Wednesday.

To get it to fit I had to DRASTICALLY modify the base. Its almost not even the same as it was before at all. I also had to cut the radiator support of course, and I had to make some cuts in the hood as well. The SLP lid still touches the hood when I close it however its not too bad and I can still close it.

I will be bringing it to the track as well, but I work wed so I cant do the CSP thing...I can prolly hit the dyno this week but not the track so I will try for the track next week. Trust me, I want times lmao!

and no...we have no track whatsoever in Cheyenne lol. Nearest one is Bandi, followed by Douglas, then Julesburg lol

Thanks for all the compliments!

I gave up this mod when i failed to fit it with my 3-inch cowl hood with cutting the underside of the hood, however I didn't cut the rad support and was very picky about trying to make it look and act bolt in and have a tight air seal, but every thread on this makes me want to try again.

I didnt want to cut my radiator support either when I first looked into this...but after a while and after some research I broke and finally decided to go for it and honestly....I couldnt be happier. I will hopefully have dyno nmbers for everyone this week, and track times next week. We will see though.
