Default Leaking Diff/Seal Replacement

I have a 94 Camaro LT1 and my diff is leaking a lil bit of fluid. I'm just wondering if replacing the seal is something I can do myself or do i need any special tools or anything? Any help would be appreciated

You need a rachet and a 12mm socket i believe. As far as the seal goes, clean the mating surfaces up and use a paper gasket or make your own using "the right stuff"

You talking about the cover seal or the pinion seal in the front?

Yeah, you need to identify where it is coming from. Differential cover is easy, like described above. Pinion seal (from the front where the drive shaft connects) is more involved.

Thanks everyone for the input, I am going to check it out tomorrow while I do a oil change and hopefully it is just the diff seal and not the pinion seal.

More than likely the differential plate cover seal, which is a cake walk. Remove the 10 bolts, pull out old gasket and put the new one in and put the bolts back in. Voila!

Also would be a good chance to replace it with a girdle cover or a shiney diff cover while it's off
