pertaining to the rebuild kit.. its a pretty good kit, the difference in the 2 kits is one has standard bearings, the other has +.010 main and rod bearings..

you will want to run a different oilpump, those pumps seem to make the oilpump drive mechanism fail... you want a melling select pump with a high pressure spring. you will probably want a new oilpump drive mechanism also..

The cam kit is 100% the best you can buy. The rebuild kit will also work well, but as mentioned ditch that oil pump. Go with the Melling 10554.

I would personally take it to your machine shop and see what they can do for a rebuild. If they are good, you'll be surprised on the prices they can get you.

Im with the guy above.

If you can find a good machine shop buy the parts from them, let them dis assemble the shortblock and tell you what needs to be done and what parts they think you should stick in there. Than have them do the work and assemble the shortblock you pick it up and bolt everything on. Done deal.

Cant go wrong with a AI or LE custom cam. Both have proven results time and time again.

One has stock size bearings, one has .10 bearings. Depends on if any machine work is done the motor, sounds like you have noone to do machine work so you'd want stock bearings. Hope your crank is in good shape

the rebuild kit should have all the gaskets needed. I am not really sure if you will need all the gaskets and seals from the cam kit. But it does have all other valvetrain parts you need and they are not the cheap ****.

whats this .... Add a GM Performance Parts High-Performance Lifter Kit - $240
Includes New GMPP HR Lifters, "Dogbones," "Spider," and hardware. on thie kit? http://www.advancedinduction.com/AiProductsCK.html

and would this be good cam to get with the kit for a daily driver? Ai 226 / 234 - .569/.570 - 110 LSA Primary Operating Range: 2000-6200rpm
This is our largest stock long-block cam for auto cars. Lopey idle, good drivability, and excellent mid-range with peak power at approximately 6200rpm. Properly tuned w/ supporting modifications, M6's typically produce 345-360rwhp SAE corrected.

If you're replacing the 1-2 gear syncros, you might as well replace them all.

Tick Performance carries t56 parts, I would talk to them.

Those are new lifters and the trays that hold them. You do not need all that unless you are just missing those parts. If you need new lifters get LS7 lifters for 100$ (make sure to measure pushrods!)

Yes, that is a great cam for a 6 speed car, several people here run that. That has everything you need for the top end (heads).

The Melling pink spring is a 70# spring - that's what you will want to use (comes already preinstalled with the 10554).
