LT-1 from a Caddy a good donor??
I am building a 57 chevy and have a chance to buy a removed LT1 from a 95 Caddy. Are the engines from a Caddy a good donor? Are they the same as a Chevy motor? I plan on removing the EGR and pump. Is there a way to remove the A/C compressor and run a belt?
Who do you suggest a harness from? I can get the original harness, but just want a stripped down version.
What is the hp/torque on a 95? I am just building a driver....but may want to install a cam with a bit of a lump. Can the throttle body handle any more cam? What about injectors?
Thanks

first make sure it's an LT1 and not the little L99 (4.3L V8). Then the only real difference is that it has iron heads as opposed to aluminum....If it's just an iron headed 5.7then your options are limitless....but I suggest finding one from an F or Y Body....as for cams, there's a sticky that has a lot of good info in it...and the harness, maybe look into the EFI connection LSx computer swap with a custom harness, or even a painless harness would be a good choice but there are a lot of options out there so choose wisely.....
