and do use a 300 taller lifter so there is no machining to the block

Yes. Link bar style. For this reason I can still use a 5/16" pushrod since they are only 6.150 in length. They can not be installed or removed with the cylinder heads in place.

if your on a budget herbert has a .300 taller roller lifter for around 250$..then the one that is 575 or 600 is the morrel lifters.
