Default Sunken Gas Pedal?

Somehow in my '93 trans am, the gas pedal has moved so that I can pull it towards me a few inches while the car is at idle. Also, to go wot, I have to make a effort to push the gas pedal into the carpet at the front of the pedal area and push it into the insulation there.

Is there any way I can adjust either the pedal or the throttle cable so that I can actually use the full power of this car?

I'd be checking the throttle cable. Sounds like something is stretched, broken, or has come un-done. Check the connections at the pedal and at the throttle body.

The cable is attached to the top of the pedal as like a forward support. However, there is a spring that attaches to the pedal/rod, maybe thats toast in your scenario.
