help!!! gettin tired of this problem
so here's the deal guys i replaced my optispark last weekend with MSD one... and replaced the coil with a blaster coil... my car runs like complete ***... first started it up it was horrible then wouldn't start.... then after it sat it started up again and same just ran horrible... i changed the plugs also and thanks to some jackass i gaped them wrong, was way to close. today i fixed the gaps and it idles a little off but not much but when ever i drive it its REALLLY sluggish has no power and when i get on it it backfires... I'm clueless as to what this could be im pretty sure my plugs are not fouled its running really rich too, any input would be greatly appreciated considering i gotta drive my Monte SS with plates from the bird slapped on it for the time being thanks guys!!!

Damn man, sorry to hear about that. If it's not spark, could it be fuel? Have you made sure your fuel pump is working properly; fuel filter's not clogged? Or anything blocking the intake tract?
Stay calm, and check the obvious one by one.

that's what I've been doing going over all the connections all the plug wires but its a no go... and the car ran fine before i replaced that opti well before the other opti started to die. getting plenty of fuel pressure at the rails. i was thinking fouled plugs from it being to close with the gap but not sure would it even run if they were fouled?

Don't mean to insult you here, please don't take offense - are you sure you have the plug wires going from the opti to the right cyls?
A lot of people number them before they do an opti swap.

DO you have a laptop and usb cable so you can scan the car and see how it is running, sounds like you have a o2 sensor or two that's bad on the 93 models the pcm reads the o2s for fuel so if I was you unplug your o2s and see if it will run better. By plugging them you force the pcm to go in closed loop. So try that and come back and tell us how it runs

It really sounds like a fuel pump. It should run at 43 or so lbs. Tape a pressure gauge to your wind shield and drive it. Watch to see if the pressure drops while driving. I had the exact same problem with my car. Don't worry too much if it is the fuel pump as there is a easy way to change it. Took me less than a hour start to finish. Also check your FPR it can cause similar problems. You could also check the pressure when the car is not starting at all, that's how i finally discovered what my problem was.
