Default Reasonable lightweight flywheel? Just order new clutch

Ordering a competition clutch stg 2.5 600hp single disk. It's a Kevlar / Cerametallic dual friction clutch.

Who sells a reasonably priced lightweight flywheel?

I didn't know they offered that one for our cars? On the site looks like they don't offer that one, unless they are custom making it. As for the flywheel...the cheapest I have seen is the Spec one, it's a little over $300.

The stock flywheel is actually pretty light to begin with. I'm not sure I'd put a lightweight one in a street car honestly since it will make it harder to pull off from a stop at lower RPM's.

Yes they do make it for our cars, they just dont have it on the website. They said the HP rating was with an LS1 pressure plate, and the pull type isn't as strong, so the rating is a little less. They did however say that they manufacture their own LT1 pressure plates, they say the fulcrum point is changed and the fingers are heat treated for more gripping power. The salesman said they do NOT use the Valeo PP, they make it in house. I thought that was kind of cool. I got it on the way today and even got sponsored by them but it's on a contingency, pays out pretty good if I place in races, car shows, auto x events, etc though.

Good to know. I was actually contemplating getting a Competition Clutch here this week. I need one ASAP, love my Ram and would get another but this company has my attention so I wanted to try them out.

Pretty good piece its not the lightest out there but it seems well made. I didn't get messed up when my started died after 130K miles (11.4 compression and a vc leak on the starter didn't help.) The only thing I didn't like is that is has a small balance plate bolted to the engine side of the flywheel. I had that removed and balanced with the rotating assembly.
Here is what it looks like.

still works good. I got it from autozone. It wasnt balanced the greatest so i just removed the tire on my mountain bike and put the flywheel in it and balanced it myself. Runs great now. Its about 20pounds lighter.

Let me know how you like that clutch. I was gonna get the one with metallic pucks on both sides since the only dual friction I saw was with organic on one side and I don't want that. I'm just really curious to see how the kevlar works out, I only seem to read bad things about that. Also how much is the kevlar/metallic one you bought?

I've been using a RAM aluminum flywheel and have no issues. They weigh about half (from what I remember) what a stock flywheel weighs, and no - you will not have any issues with engagement.

I did it for two reasons - #1 - the money I would have spent having my stocker resurfaced was better spent on a new flywheel, and #2 - a lighter flywheel helps the engine spin up faster. It's also rebuildable (as it's two-piece) which is a plus.

Just putting this out there but i ordered my clutch from them today and they told me they use the Valeo pressure plate. They do not manufacture their own. I talked to Kyle.
