Default Exhaust Questions.

Ok I'd like to ditch my exhaust setup except for the longtube pacesetters. Heres my issue, I bought a cheap used y-pipe and it turned out to be a disaster, exhaust leak heaven to be exact. Basically i threw it together just to get the car streetable. The previous owner messed the magnaflow catback up hardd. Where the catback begins is all messed up, doesnt align up with the ypipe which is messed up in itself, also the piping has a huge dent above the axle, they mustve hit a really hard bump, and to top it off one exhaust tip is more out than the other side, and Ive tried everything to straighten it out. Such a waste of a good exhaust. Id just like to know what your guys' setups are like, so I know what to buy. Im currently looking at SLP and hooker. But not sure of a y-pipe. Opinions?

Doesn't Pacesetter make y-pipes that go with their headers?

A lot of people use Pacesetter headers and y-pipes. I would think they'll work with most, if not all, catbacks designed for our cars. I would be worried about another brand of y-pipe not working with Pacesetter headers.

where the two pipes form the Y. Pacesetter just cuts a hole in the passenger side pipe and feeds the drivers side pipe. Do a search on here for a Flowmaster merge, youll see what i mean

I bought 2 stainless steel 180 degree u-bends and a magnaflow merge and had an exhaust shop fab up the y-pipe. The 2 u-bends had enough straight and bends in them to make up the complete y-pipe out of them.
