Default Loss of power

Car seems like it's lost 75hp over night.

Not nearly as fast, exhaust is not as loud. No sputtering though, still revs up smooth and starts fine, idle is good.

I'll check the fuel pressure tonight for starters. fuel pressure regulator maybe? it should be in the 40 range at idle? what about WOT?

So after checking fuel pressure, it is 41 when the pump primes, however it was about 38-39 at idle.

i also noticed the vacuum line connecting to the regulator smells like gas. pressure went to 49 when i removed the vacuum line to simulate WOT.

should i go ahead and replace the regulator?

check for any leaks. it shouldnt smell like gas. unless when you pulled off the guage some gas dripped out. the idle psi sounds about right but 49 sounds abit high. but that shouldnt really cause anything to bad. you could always replace your regulator if it is in fact causing the gas smell. just be careful because i replaced regulators before that werent good out of the box.

so i think through some stroke of genius i've figured out why i've lost power. i noticed i now have a pretty loud exhaust rattle ever since i lost power.

exhaust rattle + quieter exhaust + engine seems like its choking = too much back pressure which means my cat took a ****.

ill take the cat off and see what happens
