396ci LT1 Convertible Race Car Build
1994 Z28 convertible, TH400 w/ transbrake, 9" rear, 275 M/T ET Street Radials
This was my first car, I've had it for over 10 years. It had 117k on it when I bought it, and it's at 160k now. I've been drag racing (Jr. Drag Racing back then) since I was 8 years old. My dad and I have been working on making this a race car for about two and a half years.
So here's where we are now:

A big THANK YOU shout out to Snyder Fabrication (http://snyder-fab.com/) for all of his hard work with the roll cage and just about every other custom piece on this car. Also, Davis Race Engines for their tireless work in the spec'ing, machining, and assembling of this first class 396ci LT1 engine.

This is just some of the extra wiring I removed from the engine bay (replaced all OEM chassis wiring with a Painless harness later on)

- UMI Double Adj. Rod-ended Lower Control Arms and relocation brackets
- UMI convertible subframe connectors
- Solid Wolfe drag race swaybar welded on
- Custom built 3" steel driveshaft
- Comp. Engineering 3-way adj shocks
Front end, front suspension:
- UMI Tubular K-Member
- UMI Tubular Lower A-Arm Set
- UMI Tubular Adjustable Upper A-Arm Set
- QA1-R Adjustable Front Shocks
- QA1 275 lb. Front Springs
- Poly motor mounts
- Madman manual steering rack
- Madman alternator relocation bracket
- DMH Fabrication Chrome Moly steering column
Interior, safety:
- Wolfe 6-point converted to a 12-point full roll cage
- Kirkey Pro Drag seat
- Impact 6-point harness
- Grant Formula GT steering wheel w/ SFI quick release
- Moroso sealed battery box in trunk w/ cutoff
- Painless 8-rocker switch panel and Painless chassis wiring harness
Transmission:
- Transmission Specialties TH400, RMVB, transbrake
- Trans cooler
- Pat's Performance Converters Billet 8" converter, mechanical diode, 5400 stall
The engine:
- Davis Race Engines built 396ci LT1, roughly 12.6:1 compression, 93 octane
- Forged crank
- Forged H-beam rods
- Forged Diamond pistons
- Custom Advanced Induction top end
- Advanced Induction 200cc GM LT1 heads
- Advanced Induction Hydraulic Roller 25X/26X on a 106*, .6XX lift
- Advanced Induction ported LT1 intake manifold
- Racetronix 63 lb. flow-matched injectors
- AS&M monoblade throttle body
- LPP 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped stainless steel longtubes
- Dual electric cutouts immediately after collectors, Y-pipe into Hooker catback

Time for a few more pictures! Almost time to start her up and head to the strip! Dash is almost complete, waiting to finish up a little more wiring before securing it completely. The Painless wiring harness has completely replaced the OEM chassis harness.

Thanks for the compliments, guys.
Just south of South Campus.
The engine bay is actually in great shape paint-wise. I spent a few hours soaking with Simple Green and scrubbing away and it turned out damn good. Other than some rust cleaning/painting that needs to be done in the OEM battery area, I don't think I'll be doing much. I'll take some pics of how it looks when it's all cleaned up.
