Default obd1 knock sensor ohms need help

im very stupid electrically and need to know if this is bad. I have the 5v referenace to the sensor but on my meter im reading 1.0-1.1 m ohms. my meter displays k ohms and m ohms only. So with it reading M ohms is this a good sensor or not. The desired specs are between 3300-4500 ohms (OBD-I)

Help please

Are you reading the sensor only, without the wire connected to it? Put the meter on kohms. That would be 3.3-4.5 kohms from the reference above. Make sure your lead connections are solid and good.

Yes the sensor is unplugged and my meter is a automatic one that reads all of them. But the meter only says 1.050 Mohms.

i just checked a brand new KS that i had laying around with my blue point multi-meter. On auto it read 3.8K ohms. So my guess is that your sensor is bad.

Thats what I was thinking I have the same meter. I checked it at the sensor and to different grounds and they all read the same. So if it was good it should read 3.8k ohms.
thanks

spec from your source is anywhere between 3.3-4.5k ohms. 3.8k is right in the middle but anything in the range should be acceptable. btw where did you get the spec from (not saying its wrong, just courious)

Same spec is on my website. It comes from the GM service manual.
