Hi, new here and completely ignorant to the LT1/LT4 honestly. My father loves the LT series of motors, he had a 1996 Collector's Edition LT4 Convertible that he did 1 mod to (computer tuned to get rid of the 1-4 shift and to make it run at 180), garage kept for years and then wrecked 2 months ago...
He took the insurance money and went out and got another 1996, this time a basic white LT4 Vette with 12k miles, red/black interior and no bells and whistles like climate control etc... He actually wants to mod this one since it was a driver and isn't as collectible. He's already done the computer again, what is next? Lid and exhaust like the LS1s or something else? In my experience in the Ford world (5.0 guy booo I know...) I've always done full exhaust, shifter, pullies, gears and cold air. Same category here?
Thanks in advance for the extremely noob question. My father did all kinds of SBC builds when he was in his early 20s (grew up in the muscle car era). Kind of funny how I've grown up in the second muscle car era and do the exact same stuff he did in the late 60s/early 70s. He is pretty inept when it comes to fuel injection and all the newer car stuff though haha.

The title of this thread cracked me up, my dad bought a 96 lt4 vette new and never did a single mod to it in over 10 years. It use to drive me crazy, lol. He sold it a few years ago with the original tires on it and 12k miles.
I would recommend:
Cold air
headers/exhaust
nice cam
4:10's
programming
that'd really wake up that car
