Default is this too close to the header? help me out here.

i noticed that these two small hoses was really close to the headers on the passenger side and there really is no way to tie them back at all, i mean the clearance is maybe a millimeter at best neither but they can move around a bit when you drive and touch the headers. Should i be worried that they will burn through even with that tape on it?

Mine are the same. They've been close like that for years, no issues burning through. The heat wrap is pretty tough stuff. Don't worry about it.

If it's burning, move it. If not, leave it.

had the same issue with my car. (headers were already installed) but the heat shroud was gone for some reason on the VSS wire and i was always burning it up. But it looks like yours will hold up just fine. just keep an eye on it.

You should reroute them. Eventually with the heat the wire insulation will become brittle and crack. I can't remember what all those are. I think it's a ground for the PCM, voltage for starter solenoid and wires for O2 sensor. You can disconnect them, pull them out and route them between the #2 and #4 primary, through the motor mount and back towards the starter. You can zip tie the wires on the A/C line that comes out of the compressor assuming you still have A/C. If not you can zip tie it to the motor mount.

I would try to move them if possible. While that heat wrap is tough stuff your wires are still going through heat cycles and the insulation will eventually break down and short your wire together.

Why did you reuse those rusty old header bolts on those shiny new headers?

I would try to relocate them. Anything that touches the headers is eventually going to become a problem.

i would reroute them. i reroute those on my cars... i solder wire to the sensor and starter wires, and the other wires are all o2... i seperate them from that harness and reroute it under the heater box. dont even need o2 extension that way

I think one of those is the abs to the front right. I unplugged it. And routed the other wires away from the header. I plan on removing the abs completely. The Hookers I have, were pinching the wires against the frame.

Yes the cluster closest to the dipstick is the ABS for the PF wheel. I don't think there is enough wire to reroute unless more is added. Mine stayed where it was and was fine as long as it stayed in the plastic clip. The other cluster, however should be relocated.

Quick Reply: is this too close to the header? help me out here.
