Could be heat soak in the coil, they get warm and start acting funny towards the end of their service life... As they warm up resistance in the coil decreases and causes a weak and sometimes dead spark. I think they are $40-$45 at a local auto parts store.

Oh since you said its died completely, check the resistance with an ohmeter, more than like you are going to be reading an overload, indicates an open in the coil, which means it is DONE!

Is your security light on?
#7
No but there was a time last week where i went out to start it one day and the security light was on, basically it locked out the starter, i unhooked the negative terminal for a minute to reset the computer and it started fine. Then the next day i started it and the security light was on, i drove it with it on for about 5 mins then the light shut off and all was well. I just remembered though, about 10 mins before it shut off i rolled a GSX eclipse and smoked him (true story), anyways i noticed in the 60-100mph pull it sounded like it cut out a few times but it didnt shut off. It did the same thing as it did seconds before it actually shut off. I might go pick up a coil tommorow and see where im at. As of right now (an hour later..) it still only cranks.

you said you replaced the fuel pump? Well you need to verify proper fuel pressure when the car is stalling out and not starting. You should do the same for spark. does not matter what is new and how many miles are on it. Make sure the vent tube for the gas tank is not pintched if the tank was out recently.

Replaced that with an AC Delco unit 300 miles ago. Its been three hours and its about 50 degrees in PA right now, and all it does is crank. When I had this problem of dying before, it would start after 20 mins. I think i fixed that problem though because when i swapped the opti i found that the opti plug was completely mangled and corroded. This must be a new animal. I love these cars and I would hate to get rid of it. So far the candidates are the coil (never replaced, or the plugs fouled out because of the seafoam. I know when I bought the car in March i didnt replace them and it sat from May 09' till the day i brought it home in March. I know I have a folder of reciepts that i could look through to see. If I remember right the TR55's were replaced in July 07'

I vote check the fuel pressure with a gauge, especially when its acting up, also get a multimeter and check the resistance on the coil, if you take it to the parts store and they can check it if you can't get your hands on a multimeter. I really don't think the seafoam did anything to the plugs, I've never had it foul the plugs, if anything it will clean them. How many miles since the plugs were replaced?

I'm really leaning towards the coil. Could be fried, I'm gonna check for spark tommorow, then see where I'm at. If there's spark, then it must be a fuel problem or a slight chance of bad plugs. Ya never know, they were last replaced in July 07'. So even if it's not the plugs. I'm deffinetly going to replace the plugs. However as of now the car has cooled down and it's still not starting, so it's not a heatsoaked problem.

i know its not the same car atall but i had the same problem with my 2000 sunfire and it was a security problem. first it happened when i used the auto star but a few weeks later it happened as i was driving it
