Default My custom Ram Air

Okay when I went up to Ohio to pick up my car from my brother's place we went up to the Summit store in Cleavland. In the Bargin bin was the 98-02 F-Body Ram-Air kit for the V6 that they were selling for $50. Well considering the filter and the Radiator shroud is the exact same sold by K&N Ram Air kit for the LS1 I figured it was a steal. The V6 tunnel would not work so I went to Home Depot and picked up two 3' rubber couplers and a can of silicone. for a total of $65 I think overall it turned out pretty well.

Hey that looks familiar...

You got a GREAT deal they are usually outrageous

Something you may want to do....I took a dremel and cut a square int the rad support under the filter....That way when your going down the track the air dam will shoot air to the bottom of the filter instead of it just heat soaking on the metal....

You really can't see the hole in the pics because I cut it smaller than the filter itself so it wouldn't look bad....but if you look at the first pic you can kinda see it...

Looks good, killer deal too. Just a suggestion, I would rig up some sort of a guard that seals to the hood when closed so the filter is blocked off from sucking in hot air from the engine bay.

glad I could help!! I really think you will see an improvement at the track with it being cut on the bottom...after I made the cut I used some of the black stick on door trim stuff on it so you wouldn't see raw edges....

Nothing like a little TLC for the car after a long time away...

Thanks for the compliment! Mine is still a work in progress too...

Matt

Also I see you are military... Thank You for your service!! Glad you got home safe!! My dad left last week for Ballad. He is a Lt. Colonel this is his third deployment...

Hmm, my pics don't wanna upload. Well both your setups look good, I like the idea of cutting out the rad support for cool air.

LOL it's not filthy..just dusty, what really suprised me though was even though the car was in a garage, all open metal parts got rust on them from being in Ohio...being in NM and TX I forgot how much humidity can play a role on metal
