II took it of cause my car was banging out like at 5,500-6,200 and losing power so it wasn't the coil or ignition module but after I took it off I noticed that the connector for the opti had wires that were bare so I put a new connector on it

isnt it keyed on the block side and opti side? That would make it tough to 180 unless you spun the opti side by hand? Also assume its spinning but no fire?
All i know is i feel for ya. I almost didn't make the LTX Shootout because of this...ended up being the ICM instead.

Silly question. Is it possible with the bare wires the fuse blew? I would check the obvious first. Check the fuses and move on after that.
See the attached link. I also recall the unit can only go in one way.
Hope this helps.

Fuse
If you had the key on at any time and the chaffed wire was a voltage wire, if it touched any chassis ground the fuse would blow. It anly takes a second to check. Did the unit go in easy or did you have to force it. I'm not sure if you can install it out of phase. Only goes one way. You can also check with a test light and see if you have a 12v at the harness. Also check to see all related wiring near where you worked did not get pinched in any way. Been there. I seen an apprentice at my work install an engine in an S10. completely pinched the main engine harness between the engine and trans. Somehow he still managed to draw the engine and trans together with the trans bolts. It was a real mess. lol, his big bad. Check the fuses and re post.
