what do u mean by highway run? once ? or after every highway run?
There is a known problem with reverse from factory that appears after age.
Your 85 mph vibe may very well be the stock iron driveshaft...or an inbalance. in either case ive seen the LS1 alumi shafts cure the problem....altho it seems it kinda moves it up to 120ish....but everything under is much much better

You can get an Ls1 shaft at your local junkyard or maybe ebay.
You dont have to pull the tranny if the problem is just reverse...altho a little difficult u can run the fix by removing the tailshaft of the T56 giving u access to the reverse gear slider arm. But if this is not the only place with problems then yea u should pull it.
Nope not your finger....yea maybe her hair....but bad synchros....yea...time to pull it.
