Usually trucks.

I used to run the tall K&N but when I went long tube headers it no longer would fit. Got em sitting on the shelf.

i dont know how much taller your talking about, but all the stock ones that go on are really short, so i use the napa 1214 in the blue box, its about the right size for a normal motor, not that short piece of crap lol

I just use a K&N filter that has the nut on the bottom for easy removal. I hated trying to get off filters with LTs on the car.

I always just look up 97 K2500 6.5 diesel/454 gas wix filter its about an inch and a half longer.
K&N filters are easier to remove with headers because they have got the nut but wix cost half as much, and most murrays/o'rielly's stock them now.

That's a tall 302 next to the wix, the thing is really tall there is no way I would run a oil cooler with that filter.

I run the tall pure one. Since it's yellow it helps me locate it during oil changes to remove it.

There's absolutely no reason to run a tall 2 quart filter on an lt1

i run the AC Delco Pf 1218 with the stock oil cooler and LT's, the bottom of the filter is still comfortably above the oil pan as well out of harms way.

I ran the tall Mobile 1 filter once and it sat about even with the bottom of my oil pan which is probably ok but didn't want to risk it
