Default Is Ram-Air hood needed for LS1 lid conversion?

Is there any way to do the LS1 lid conversion without swapping out the standard Firebird/TransAm hood?

It looks like there is no way to avoid trimming parts of the car whether it is a Ram Air factory car or not. Probably not going to do this.............no way to take the car back to stock.
