Default lt1 coolant crossover tube question

Anyone ever delete this tube from your heads?? Wondering if I can. Can't find new gaskets anywhere.

Dont delete it, you need it.

These are the seals to get, Chevy dealers should have them.

Rubber Oil pan drain plug gaskets will work fine. Same thing without gm raping you.

For about $60 in parts, you can make the tube with AN fittings if you're interested.

A/C compressor washers work too and they are cheap.

No an fittings on this car. But what if the motor is going in an older car that doesn't have the fitting on the radiator??

I would install a tee on the return line of the heater hose, or have a fitting welded on the radiator tank.

Very. It pulls any excess steam buildup in the heads out and back to the radiator where it condenses and rejoins the cooling system. Without it the steam would build up and develop hot spots.

Ok. Makes sense now. That's all due to the reverse flow water right.

Yes when the thermostat is open coolant is really flowing threw that line.

Napa had some oil plug gaskets in stock 1.87each. Better then 7+ dollars from gm that they needed to order

The actual seal that is specific for the crossover and ac lines is like $22/each. Outrageous.

7041093 is the napa part number. I'm using them, they work great.
