Cool Road to the 9's NA with a 385 AI HCI Street Car Video&Pics Inside 10.2x's so far.....

10-10-10 --- Update Ran consistant 10.29-10.35 all day in 800-1200ft DA...ran a best of 10.260 @ 131.8 w/ 1.41 60'

Moving this thread over to here...........heres a link to the old thread.....bunch of video on that thread....
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...eo-inside.html

I'll be updating here with the new modifications and Video's as I go along......the goal is to get this thing in the 9's Naturally Aspirated and still be a street driven car.....stay tuned!!!!

So far the car has gone a 10.38 @ 131 with 4* of timing out on the launch and a 1.47 60' becuase the car was chattering out of the hole. I got the car down to a 1.401 60' now and fixed the traction issue but never got a full pass out of it (track was 1/8 mile). So with the better 60' and the 100lbs out of the nose of the car I'm expecting 10.20's with no problem at all.

Quick overview of the car just as an FYI.....

95 Camaro Quasar Blue Full Interior Street Driven car (! rear seats ! HVAC)
Engine:
385 c.i.
Callies/Oliver/SRP Bottom End 13.9:1 CR 112 Octane
Advanced Induction 215cc CNC Trick Flow Heads
Advanced Induction Custom Solid Roller Cam
Edelbrock Victor E EFI Intake Ported by AI
Wilson Manifolds Elbow w/105mm Monoblade
FAST XFI

Trans:
4L60E Pro Built Autos Pro Street Elite Kit w/ Manual Valve Body
5000rpm Vigilante 5Disk Lockup Converter

Rear:
Strange S60 w/ Locker and 4.56's

Suspension:
Full BMR Tubular, QA1 Coil Overs, Varishock Rear Shocks, 8pt Cage, Manual Rack was 3515lb now its 3415lb waiting to run the car with less weight

Tires:
26x4x15 Hoosier Bias Front
28x10x15 Hoosier Drag out back

Car still retains all ammentities except radio and HVAC. Windshield wipers, power door locks, power windows, air bags, rear bumper support, door bars and full interior minus rear seats are all still intact and functional.

Heres the latest project......Braille 11.5lb battery, catch can relocation, ls1 alternator relocation and a BMR manual rack....removed front bumper support and a few other things....dropped 100lbs total off the nose on this one.......

heres a few pics......went to run the car saturday but the battery is no good...it wont hold a charge so I'm swapping it out for another one and trying it again this weekend......

Way to forge ahead, Mike! I have no doubt we'll see a NINE from you by next year's Shootout!
I like the way you're keeping the "class" in that car while pushing it so far
My goals are kinda the same......keep it looking good and able to be driven any day I decide to.
........sniffing for 10's while you're smelling the 9's ...

my car at the time was 3330ish acording to how much fuel i was carrying. It was of course the stock crank 355(still running it), lt4 intake, lt4 heads, pump gas(12.5:1). I still need to do a crankcase evac pump etc. as supposedly there is some hp in it and i see all the fast cars are running one..lol.

I think with the better air coming and the changes your making you will get to the 9s soon.

3300 with me in it is the goal for next year.....if i can do that it should go 9's with no problem.....im gonna do the strange race brakes next....that spinning weight should make a huggeee difference

you will save a good bit of weight with the brakes....and its rotating like you said so you will see a nice difference. 3300 is not hard with the right things.

My car is lighter now and making about 25 more at the tires. If i can ever get the thing sorted out im hoping to go in the 9s with you but with a 6 speed. But my car isn't blue and most of the fast cars are blue so im thinking of a color change. Im also thinking of a e85 swap and the evac system. Everything helps.

I was totally pleased with mine yesterday. It spun the motor faster than the huge battery from the trunk did.
I didn't charge it before I used it. they claim they come fully charged, so I was determined to test it properly

yea that fully charged thing didnt work out too well for me lol.....i installed it hit the key and the motor may have made one revolution before it stopped lol.....figured that wasn't a good sign then i saw on the test card that the build date was february which means it sat on the shelf at summit for like 9 months....oh well they sent me another one it will be here thursday.......in the mean time im gonna go searching for more weight and re-do the wiring to the battery....make it nice a neat and hidden i hate looking at the stock spaghetti bowl of wires lol
