What do you have for exhaust? Have you recently changed the transmission mount or motor mounts to polyeurethane ones? Did this happen before, after, or always when you put the new driveshaft in? Did you have the driveshaft balanced? What condition are your tires in? Has your car ever had allignment work or been in an accident you know of?

Just several possibilities and things to think of.

Mine does that, it used to start at 105 but since I changed gears it's now at 75. So I'm thinkin it something in the tail shaft because my whole driveshaft was twisted before I got that replaced

Mine happens around 83MPH and I have 4.11 gears.
If you have 3.42 gears, that accounts for the higher MPH than mine.

Sounds like we have the same problem.

You guys are cravy!

Don't they blame the viberation on the LS1 driveshaft??

And this post was so much better, at least I've contributed to this thread. Just poking a little fun, no need to name call.

I've not heard of the ls1 driveshafts having this problem. Not sure if it's common or not?

About 4 mounths ago a Guy had the exact same problem, he checked his clutch, rear end, drive shaft . It ended up being his tranny it might be that also. I'm having the same vibrations and I'm gonna have them inspect my tranny

yea i saw it. thats why i called him he seems to think its not a main shaft. we both think its a tail shaft bearing. its not a common problem but he dosnt believe it can be much else

I replaced the tailshaft bushing in mine twice and nothing changed. But if you want to change it, its rather easy to do. Just pull the rear housing off and take it to a tranny shop and have them press the old bushing out and install the new bushing. Then reinstall the housing.

LS1 DS is balanced and is a cure for the common LT1 DS vibration issues. So there is little to no chance his LS1 DS is causing the problem, unless its an LT1 DS and he got had.
