Default Hitting rev limiter at WOT

I have been having this problem since stock.. (A4) Whenever i floor the car (WOT) from under 35 mph it will rev all the way up to the limiter and bounce off 3 times before my car will move. I never could diagnose it, i always assumed it was "this or that" But now im consulting to you guys on the tech.

My only "guess" would be maybe my car isn't gaining traction at WOT from such low speeds and it is causing it to rev all the way up from the tires spinning. My tread isn't very good on my street tires.

Well when your trans grenades internally and possible causes damage to other parts, yourself and or other people see how much it will cost then. As most of the people in here are saying look to the trans that is your best starting point to at least have it looked into if not replaced.

I understand, I just don't want to pinpoint it at that just yet. It shifts fine at all gears and speeds, even 3/4 throttle, just not full throttle. After further searching i found several other topics including:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...shift-wot.html
and
http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394329

My car is also untuned, however it was doing this from the day i bought the car in stock form (as far as i know)

While getting my tune, would it be wise to get my rev limiter tuned out?

1-2 shift then its the clutch pack in your trans worn out and time to rebuild the entire thing with a shift kit and raybestos green kit.

ill rebuild it for you 1500 ut the door......

all 4l60e do this i would also recommend a better 1-2 2-3 servo a corvette style has a bigger diameter of holding force. with a trans go or b&m shift kit.....

im almost 100 with everyone else on the trans is shot, soon you wont have 3rd gear but you think you will and it will shift right to OD

It sounds like the trans is going. My 88 IROC did it before i sold it. Turns out the guy i sold it to grenaded it, he asked my if i ever beat on it, i said "on occasion" (it was my first car btw)
And im curious, do you have your car for sale on craigslist? I seen the exact same year, with the same blacked out wheels, tailights, sidemarkers, and true duals. Unsure if its an M6 or an A4 though.

Yeah its mine. Im sure ill have great luck selling it now!
Well i don't have a grand for someone to rebuild it.
But searching craigslist i see a TH350 for 250$.
Anyway to test these things while buying or do i have to take the sellers word?

If you get the 9 inch tailhousing TH 350 you can use your stock driveshaft.

If you are broke and can't afford a grand to fix your car, stop beating on it!!

Mine has been doing the same thing as yours (only on the 2-3 shift, not 1-2) for a long time. Car still gets me where I am going fine, just don't thrash on it and start saving up for a built 4L60 or a 6 speed swap.

Yeah i thought it was yours. +1 to stop beating on it as well. I drove my IROC around like that for a long time and it did fine, no slipping or anything, and i occasionally manual shifted it/beat on it. Meanwhile start saving up for a rebuild
