Default Lt1 Cooling issues?

Ok my car will overheat in 5-10 mins just idling. I've had the radiator flushed, and pressure tested. Has new t-stat. Hoses r good. New cap. How do I tell if my waterpump is working? Also my hoses feel like they are about to burst. So I don't think the water pump is turning.

Have you recently had the waterpump off? There is a coupling for the output shaft which is driven by the cam gear to the waterpump. I would think if your w/p was siezed it would make an incredible racket. If you want to know if it is working you can partially drain the radiator, open the cap and let the car run until the thermostat opens to see if there is any agitation.
Are you losing coolant?

Also, verify that your fans are actually turning on.

How did you refill the system? LT1s are very finicky on how they are filled. Are you using the correct thermostat and not a typical SBC stat?
