Default what can i remove from my lt4???

I have a 95 lt4 and im doing alot of work on it, need to know what i can remove from the engine that i dont need????? i just put longtube headers off road y-pipe slp catback new air intake 3.73 gear and it was smoged and past. just trying to remove **** i dont need.

i dont think you need the pistons. or the oil. its all extra weight



we need more info. smog yes or no? is the car currently stock

You don't need emissions stuff (AIR and EGR) but if you have to pass a smog test then you can't get rid of that. Other then that get rid of accessories if you can live with out them, a/c, power steering then relocate the alternator and get rid of the big accessory bracket. But other then that stuff I'm not sure what you want to get rid of.

Getting rid of AIR or EGR are NOT going to help power.

Correct, just gives you a little more room and makes it easier to work on.

That is a good point BUT we don't really know if the OP has a factory LT4 or some missguided conversion since he couldn't be bothered to post a signature or any real details about the car.

Only '97s came w/ LT4's from the factory, and I think just over 100 were made between the SS's & 30th anniv's? I dont know exact #'s. He or previous owner painted the intake red or did the LT4 specific heads, intake, timing chain, & etc swap.
