Are the install instructions for putting a new one on to drop the whole transmission for this thing?

You should be able to get to it fine by taking the trans crossmember off and letting it hang. Then use a 15mm socket with a 3/8 ratchet and long extension to get the bolt that holds the vent tube bracket loose. It is on the top right side of the transmission.

I got it figured out. I had the old one off I just couldn't get the new one on so I ended up making my own out of rubber hose and a piece of the OEM vent tube.
