Default motor build questions?

Ok guys i have a 97 z28 A4. I just had a rod bearing go so im pulling the motor and will be rebuilding the bottom end and hopefully doing h/c as well. I will be rebuiling the bottom end using ground stock crank, forged i beams, and a set of forged flat top speed pro pistons. Since the car is an A4 there are very few cams i can run without replacing the converter. The car is currently bone stock but i plan on getting a CAI and headers. Would the car be able to handle a high stall converter on a mild cam. Im afraid it wont but i eventually plan on running the ss3600 when i get my heads and cam and i really dont want to have to buy 2 converters. The car is also getting a new water pump, opti, oil pump, lifters, etc.... Would the spider need replaced?

The ss 3600 will be great for you. Even if ur car stays bone stock or has hci.. Plus it will still drive great on street. I ran a 3800 stall on my bolton car for years.

Nice im going to order my ss3600 once i get some birthday money. Im pretty excited to know that i can run that converter on my bolt setup for a while. Well i will definitely be getting a cam then when i do my motor. Would i be able to run stock gears for a while too? I plan on eventually swapping to a midwest 9" with a truetrac.

what gears you got? how radical are you going on h/c? those are 2 important questions. If you are looking at h/c best place imo is Lloyd Elliot Portworks. Best bang for your buck by far.
