Default Water pump

95 lt1 trans am, putting a EWP on ive read the i can leave the drive gear on the timming cover? If i want to take it off and put a freez plug on how do i remove the gear, do i need to take the hole timming cover off????

Ouch lol. I'm in The middle of a cam swap. Taking my time but I'm down to the optispark. Its a long way from the water pump to the timing chain. Need to pull the crankshaft pulley too.

? No it isn't. I can have the whole front end done in like 30 minutes. Of course I didn't have to deal with the air pump, but that's like 2 minutes extra.

Pull WP, 6 screws.
Pull opti, 3 screws.
Pull hub pulley, 3 screws.
Pull hub, 1 screw, and the longest part.
Pull air, 3? screws.
Pull timing cover 8? screws.

Of course I pulled the timing cover with the oil pan intact....

Add that in, and you're looking at an extra 25 or so added to my time.

That's not a lot of work.

Finding the correct "tools" for the hub pull will take the longest.
