Default fuel pump issue with new motor..

Ok so aside from having clutch issues atm I'm also having a fuel pump issue.. So my car is a 94 z28 and i installed a new walboro 255lph fuel pump new fuel filter and I'm using the harness out of a 96 z28.. I repined the harness per "shbox's directions" do get the injector power feed wire from the c105 connector back into the c100 connector. Any who, when i turn the key the fuel pump will not prime.. when i try to start it i get nothing.. So i figured lets try the fuel pump prime connector.. bam i have power the fuel pump kicks on i can here the rails getting fuel and pressure.. so i go to crank it and the fuel pump does not prime once again.. Try to start it and nothing.. any ideas on this one? I'm thinking of just bypassing the wiring in the car and buying the hot wire kit at this point.. so to sum this story up

fuel pump primes with the fuel pump connector but not when you turn the key on

No it wouldn't. But if you do decide to go that route make sure it is wired with a fuse.

ok so to update the situation when i pull out the fuel pump relay and used my multi meter when the key is turned the 12v in gets 12v.. when i put the multimeter in the pink and yellow wire slots the pump kicks on.. Does this mean that the problem is at the ignition switch? also i noticed that when i jumped those two wires that the pump reads 5v. is that normal?

Almost sounds like a security problem if it works hot wired but not normal. Not 100% on this but maybe someone else knows.
