Default Waist deep in the 12s with bolton LT1

New PB at MIR, it was about 55 degrees out today. Did a total of 5 runs and the last was the best, my losing run in the second round of the gamblers race. I had guessed 12.47.

R/T -.059
60' 1.847
330 5.263
1/8 8.071
MPH 87.98
1000 10.482
1/4 12.531
MPH 110.33

Guy I lost to was a dragster who guessed 7.87 and ran a 7.88.

Changes from last weeks 12.711 at 109.72 with a 1.929 60' are I removed the heavy WS6 front sway bar, the head unit, speakers, and door panels, and was running 26x11.5 ET streets on salad shooters at 24psi. Race weight is down to 3225 from last weeks 3280, and without me in the car it weighs 3070.

Mid 12s, waist deep, not bad. If I hadnt lost and had another couple runs I think I could have hit 12.3s and been nipple deep in the 12s with a more agressive launch as I was still getting used to launching on the slicks.

On a side note, I got to witness the first ever 5th gen in the 8s, as a Lingenfelter 2011 camaro with a WS9 and 2 stages of nitrous WITH A STOCK GEAR RATIO 6 SPEED MANUAL and 4.10s in the rear ran a 8.99.

Skinnys would be sweet, Id love to get some light under the front tires. A guy there said he was gonna video me on my last run, but his memory card filled up filming his friend before I could run. Id love to see a pic of the car launching, see how close it is to pulling the tires.

Theres still alot to go, the heater and fan still work. Also, all of the weight reduction Ive done has been free, not a dime has been spent on lightweight stuff like suspension.

Not bad at all! Everyone keeps saying LT1 are slower than LS1, but we saw several OBD1 and OBDII LT1 cars dyno very close to stockish LS1 cars.

In fact a bolt on (exhaust/headers/intake/pulley) tuned LT1 did 284/346 tuned to my 302/324 (headers/exhaust/lid) untuned if I remember correctly

302 is low for a header/exhaust/lid ls1. should be north of 320. It would be if you tuned it... Anyways I agree the lt1 is not far off. I beat my share of ls1's wit my ol lt1 back in teh day! of course they usually had had a few less mods. I run 12.50's with mods in sig on street tires w/ no weight reduction... not to mention Im 6'8" 285, so definately not a light driver lol.

op nice times!

I like what I see. I have a lt1, mods in my sig, in my s10 and im at 313/337rwhp/tq and i am wanting 12s with mine. What is your power numbers? If we are about the same, I would be extremely happy since my truck is a few hundred lbs lighter.

^Not sure if you are referring to me or op anyways...
car put down 320whp 330wtq back in april 09' before I purchased the car... the lid, ported tb, and ftra were added after I took ownership...its still on a base tune, no fueling or timing adjustments!! Im hoping to get it back on the dyno and expect to see 340whp-360wtq tuned. Car weighs 3250 on empty w/ no driver... traps 113 on 17" sumitomo street tires and stock stall.

lol, i actually was refering to the OP, but since you have 7more hp/7less tq than me, guess i can somewhat relate to you. THough i am a 6spd, id love to run your time, lol. Over the winter I am getting a eaton posi, 4.10s or 3.73s and making a set of caltracs for me. That and trying to find a deal for some drag radials, 28 inch tall tires.

If you are referring to my car, I have no clue what it puts down, probably around 300 at the wheels. Time behind the wheel is why Im running where I am, I have probably 70 1/8th mile passes and now 12 1/4 mile passes, the first being a 13.7 with the same setup, and now Im down to a 12.5, so the driver mod is the biggest thing.

All Id wanted originally was 12.9 and everything more Ive gotten is bonus. When I entered the gamblers race the guy said "put down a time you think youll run, but make it a tenth faster just incase because if you go faster your out". My fastest of the day was 12.65, so I put 12.57 because anyting in the 12.5s even if I got kicked out I would have been fine with. Ran a 12.58. Next round went for broke and wrote 12.47 on the window. Ran 12.53 but redlighted and lost. Totally worth it. Next week: 12.3s

thats pretty sweet. Driver is lacking track passes here, lol. I have 2 total haha. Did it a year and a half ago, truck broke down after and havent taken since b/c i have had little issues here and there and not wanting to chance things. But lately things have been going decent for it, so hopefully i can get it fixed this week and take it to Cecil on saturday.

thats alittle far for me right now. Reason why I dont take it to the track too much is b/c I usually look at this regarding the truck with the glass half empty, not half full. So I am always looking for the next issue. And driving the 2 hrs or so to there...Im sure something woudl happen, lol. Now if I could find a buddy that is willing to trailor me, i am down for it. But thats probably not til next spring time. I know with my rear setup now its not worth going down there at all.

I was not sure lol! btw I was only trapping 109-110 at 320whp and 330wtq wich was before the lid, ported tb, and ftra. By what my car traps now it shows that its a bit more.... probably closer to 340whp -350wtq now.
