So I got the Jegs hub in today so I can finish up this 24x project!

Question is about the black peg.

I take it I want to remove it? Does it just screw out or what? What is its purpose? I know the ASP pulley is no where near sitting flat with it in there.

It's an alignment dowl. When I used it with a TCI damper it fit in a hole on the damper

So is it threaded in there or pressed? No alignment holes in the ASP underdrive damper.

I believe the stock 97 crankshaft hub(shorter in length) is needed to work with the EFI24x kit. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

That is why I ordered the hub from Jegs. I ordered the 96-97 hub. Mattsapp95 was right also, Advance Auto had a package of crank keys for only $3.50
