You can start by pulling your dash out and removing the radio, speakers, all the climate control stuff, blower, condenser, A/C Compressor, Power Steering Pump, ABS
OhhH! and can't forget to get rid of the airbags!
OhhH and also swap your K-Member to a Tube K and Tube A-Arms

1994 LT1 M6 with a vacuum leak !rear seats, !spare and jack, !muffler
I also had much more seat time than him.

Also could shed 30 lbs. in battery weight really quick for cheap! I'm running a Deka Powersports 16 I think? It is only 275cca, but it starts the car everytime. I shaved a ton of weight off the front end, I used to run a redtop optima.
So yeah easy 50-55 lbs. in the crash bumper and smaller battery. The battery is like $60 I think?
You could always just spray it.

Damn, now you guys got me wanting to strip down my ho.
Guess it's time to lose that dash and clusterf\/#$ of tubing HVAC system that I never use. Question tho, how do you retain your speedo and gauges? Can you take the pins out and buy a connector or what?

passenger Front, and rear seats (and seat belts, they're fairly heavy) spare, jack, passenger air bag, front and rear bumper supports, sway bar and brackets, cat back, power steering. Those are all easy things.
Complete HVAC system, radio speakers and wiring, parking brake, fender metal, frame horns, bottom section of the radiator support, single 16" fan instead of dual fans, sound deadener off carpet, excess wiring (easy to find 10lbs there) new steering wheel without air bag. Swiss-cheese EVERYTHING on the body.
Then you get in to lightweight tube suspension parts, aluminum coilovers, silos motor mounts, aluminum driveshaft, gun drilled, scalloped axles, lightened ring gear, spool (aluminum at that) instead of a posi. Drag wheels, drag brakes, aluminum floor pans, race seat.
The list just goes on and on and on. How fast you wanna go depends on the money you wanna spend.

If you really want to go the route of trying to beat him just by removing weight then there are alot of good ideas in this thread. I would look into some power mods though, as it's much easier to add 30 hp than to find 300 lbs to remove.

Replace the stock steel driveshaft for an aluminum LS1 shaft and pickup an easy tenth along with weight reduction and some drag radials it should be close. Or add a 100shot and let him take off. LOL
