Default What brand is mostly used?

Hy,

Ready to install some 1.6 NSA RR(stock cam +head). Was talking to Lloyd E upon pushrods he told me to measure pushrod to get the exact lengt needed and do a tile test to see it they are hardened. Looks like not (see picture).

WHat hardened pushrod brands do u guys use the most. (summit seems to be the cheapest)

Summit owns trickflow which means the summit pushrods are probably the same as the trickflows. I ran trickflows with the brief stint of my le2 setup without any issues.

Fixed.

To determine if a PR is hardened or not. Take a flat file and drag it across the PR. If the PR is NOT hardened, it will try to cut into the metal. If the PR is hardened, the file will not cut and not even leave a blemish on the metal.

Even the sound the file makes while dragging is much higher in frequency when the PR is hardened.

Lots of good ones. I run Terry Manton's push rods in my BBC and LT1.

Yes, I asked the questrion because people always talk about brand of RR and Valve spring, but never mention the barnd of their PR.

To whytryz28: I thought so to but looks like not. see my picture

To Wrd1972: thanks, it was a mistake typed. Looking at the pic u can see that I did it the right way

I went with Trickflow's because they were half the price of Comp.

Brand doesn't really matter as long as it is a one piece .080 wall chromoly pushrod. The name printed on it won't make much difference. I have used Trick Flow in the past myself.

Yes this is true! I am sure the Summit brand would be fine

newbie question, but does this mean that I shouldn't bother buying aftermarket PRs for my 94 TA when I finally decide to build the motor?
