Scanning a 94 lt1 for DTC etc
So at in my current automotive program in college we have a scan tool for obd1 and 2 called "ScanTool CanOBD1 & 2 Kit" When I plug it in with the red GM 82-95 OBD1 connector the scanner says the car is not responding, and the paper clip method does not work. The car is stock from what I know and can tell, but I have also been told of GM's famous OBD 1.5. Which would be a OBD2 plug, that is scanned by a OBD1 scanner....
The only reason I want to scan the car is it has a random CEL at >1500 rpms carusing around, now normally it's only 6th it trips the CEL but today it did it in 5th and went away 10 mins later. I was told EGR when I got it, but the guy lied to me about a lot so I think thats crap. Now after having it for about 6 months It's got a slight and random miss, and I am positive it's the Opti after a bit of reading.
Insight, Ideas, or just a different scan tool/plug in?
