Default need help with oil pressure gauge

i already know not to trust the stock oil pressure gauge, so im thinking about running an electrical oil pressure gauge in the pillar, but idk how i would go about hooking that up. do you splice into the stock oil sending unit or do you add another one, maybe by running a T fitting before the stock oil sending? idk

also i would like to keep the stock gauge working as well, if i could

i was planning on running this autometer gauge

do yourself a favor and get the mechanical gauge. I was seeing like ~40psi on the stock gauge at cold start (new motor and new sender) and i was getting a little worried. Threw a mechanical on there and i'm seeing ~65 at cold start, and ~25 at hot idle. Only time I had a problem with leakage was when I was in such a hurry to start my car, I forgot to actually put the line into the back of the gauge those were a nice set of jeans too...

I just put an electric oil pressure gauge in my gauge pod a couple weeks ago. I just pulled the stock oil pressure sensor and replaced that with the one from the gauge. I was like you and didnt know all what it was going to take to get the gauges pressure sensor installed, but it was cake to do. I didnt have to use any sort of adapters or anything.

Why do you want/need two oil pressure gauges for? The factory one isnt accurate at all. IMO all you need is one gauge.

You can use the port on the side of the block for the new oil pressure sensor and leave the stock one connected behind the intake. But I would just get rid of the stock one it sucks

does a 95 lt1 have the port on the side of the block where the 93 sending unit went? also if it does does it already have threads for the sending unit?

All LT1s have an auxiliary oil port directly above the oil filter.

a 95 should be behind the intake manifold. That one you posted in the link has the sensor with it so you don't need to use the stock sending unit. you could put a t fitting off the back of the intake manifold and run both that way if theres room im not sure if there would be. my stock one broke so i just ran mine off the back of the intake manifold and have it on the a pillar. I really like it.

Just so you know the pcm doesnt monitor the oil pressure. So you wont get a check engine light if you remove the stock sending unit.
