I ran a Magnaflow for a while. It sounded great and is arguably the best looking cat-back out there.

It is a fantastic looking catback, definately an upgrade from stock. It's stainless too, which is very nice. Some think it's a little quiet, but for some it's just perfect.

Really depends on preference on your part...you can always put in an electric cutout for when you wanna be really loud, which is the route I think I am going to take.

BTW, not every every magnaflow car sounds as raspy as the one in the video above...not sure whats up with that? Probably a backyard gutted cat?

I had this system on my old 00 Formula. Sounded great at WOT and pretty quiet at idle and lower RPMs. Made real good power too.

Had mine on my car. Putting it up for sale tomorrow. To quiet for my taste with long tube headers and no cats.

I wasn't big on the tips either. I ended up just buying a Magnaflow muffler and my choice of tips. I had planned on buying the over-axle pipe but never got around to doing it - someone said the stock over-axle isn't that restrictive, especially if you're not running headers. Magnaflow later came out with a catback with better tips instead of the "truck cannons" that come with the regular catback.

BTW, the magnaflow sounds great to old ears like mine - not too loud, just right. I plan on getting the same setup for my new LS1.

That's not a great price. There are several sellers on ebay offering it for around $350. Search for the part number 15620.

I would also have an exhaust shop install it as my magnaflow never lined up at all on the stock brackets. Does not matter on mine since its coming off. I however like the tips on my formula and may keep them over the borla tips. Was never a fan of quad tips.

thats why i just ran a magnaflow muffler on mine and kept the stock exhaust and tips. since the stock exhaust is 2.75 and the pipe before the cat is 2.5, i didn't think there'd be much gain in goinng from 2.75 to 3 inch pipe. it was also alot cheaper that way. i paid $86 for the muffler and $70 to get it installed.

to the OP, here's how mine sounds.
