Default (i have searched and searched!) Lid Question

does anyone have a write up on the Ls1 radiator support and lid working with a stock Z28 hood? so far i have cut a ton of metal off a spare hood i bought, as well as flattened the Ls1 radiator support with a dremel. Im sooo close to getting the hood to close!!! i have seen a ton of detailed write ups on SS hoods and trans ams but nothing with detail with a stock z28. i have not cut the car yet until i am 100 percent sure on everything working. Thanks for any input!!

I think the only way it will fit with a stock hood is if you hog out the core support. I have a 4" cowl hood with the air filter base cut down and it still hits.

i have cut all the bracing out of the hood. every last bit of it in the front part of the hood. just have not cut core support yet. it almost seems impossible.

I have a lid with my stock hood.

I had to hack up the radiator shroud and cut out a place on the main support to hold the air filter. Looks ok in the end. I have another setup waiting for when I buy a cowl hood.
