Default MadTuner/ madz28 questions

Who has used his email tuning for their custom built engines such as custom cams, heads worked N/A, S/C, Turbo on stock controller? As I have posted about in the past my tune is crap and I am going to replace my knock sensor with one from a 95 and install a 95 LT1 pcm I have laying around in my 97 Camaro and have him do a tune for me. I want to do the email tune so that I can data log it with what ever he uses and now I will be able to use alot of the free software for OBD1 lt1's as well. I am going to also buy a cable so I can do all this. So who has his tune and what did you think of your experience? Also did you use a wide band to help him tune it? Thanks guys.

E-mail. Bought a cable from moates.net and then had him write the tune and E-mail it to me. Easy as pie. You download Tuner Cats and do a read to make sure everything works and then write the new file he sends you to the pcm. done. I also downloaded TSS datamaster and did a data log and sent it to him to look at. Looked fine so that the way I left it before I lost the head gasket for unrealated issues. Car ran better then ever and then not lol.

I had a couple of mad tuner tunes. One with a hotcam kit, and the other with a le2 setup. Both were off by quite a bit. Another guy I know has his tune for a bolt on car and it seemed to work really good for him.

Email tunes make me a bit nervous. It is hard to find a tuner around here to do LT1 cars.

what? Email tunes???? I did email tunes on both OBD1 and OBD2. Never had any problems loading them. As long as the equipment you have works there should not be a problem. Now Mail order tunes on the other hand lol.... I have had to have a couple them done to try and get it right.

I have a Madtuner tune in my 96 Z28 w/cam and bolt-on car and I have had really good luck with it. The guy that installed my cam took it for a test drive and said that he was amazed at how good the car ran with a mail order tune.

Yea my first was a PITA but Madtuner nailed it. Like I said earlier his tune ran great untill I had an unrealated issue. I love his tune it ran with great power from 2200 all the way to the red line. No hesitation at all like I had with the last tune at 2500 to 3500. I also like what he did with the lockup points on the converter. Keeps the car at all speeds in the power.

Thats where I get all my baseline tunes, then tweak them to my preference. With bolt on cars every tune Ive gotten from Ion was nearly spot on, cammed cars needed some minor tweaking. Most were on the rich side.

i was also thinking about the email tune for my LT/true dual install. How easy is it to do for someone who has no tuning experience? Also do you recommend that I get the tune before or after i bring it to the shop for the install?
