Default Low Coolant Level Light.

Ok I bought a 94 Buick Roadmaster for a DD. But when on the highway at speeds over 70+mph the LCL light will come on. Sometimes it stays on sometimes it flickers back and forth. When I slow down it goes off. The level is fine.

Is it the sensor in the reservior?
Is it the sensor in the radiator?

I want to fix it right so I'm not interested in taping over the light or disconnecting anything.
Thanks

Sensor is on the passenger side of the radiator. At least in the f-bodies.

Is that the one that trips the LCL light?

Yes its on the pass side on the radiator and it trips the light. Its a common thing to go bad and ppl seem to have problems with it. If you unplug it the light goes away even tho you might not want to "fix" it that way haha

It's a real easy fix.

You can drain the radiator down a few inches to the point where the sensor fits, then clean it off real good, replace it and see if it works.

Or...you can just go get a new one, and do a quick swap between the old one and the new one so you don't have to drain the radiator. You'll only lose a few drops of fluid if you're quick, especially if you leave the radiator cap ON. That's what I did since I didn't want to deal with the possibility that the sensor was bad.

Or, you can just unplug it, which I wasn't going to do since a new head gasket repair can be expensive, LOL.
