Question about water pump drive seal The water pump seal has 2 sealing lip surfaces; inner and outer. When it's installed, it should ride like this, correct?
engine side ___/__\____ pump side
And not this, correct?

These are representations of how it would look in cutaway if you were looking at the seal from the side, seated on the shaft.
