Default Coolant crossover tube/steam pipe

So I pulled my motor this past week and I would really like to switch that pain in the *** crossover tube in the back of the heads to AN fittings and hose.

I know I've seen this done before, I was wondering if anyone knows the sizes of the fittings and hoses I need with links.

Help is appreciated!!

Had a hard time finding it through search, but remembered I had it saved in an e-mail to myself.

Works great. I paid about $100 for all my stuff, but it's a one-time permanent fix.

thanks for that, it helped huge. it's a little steep costing about $60 but i think it should be worth it in the end saving a big f*ckin headache

Compared to a new OEM tube, $60 is HALF the price.

You can do it with pushlok hose and barb fittings too. Not sure how these guys are connecting the braided line to the system but a -6an pushlok will fit right onto the radiator. Either works though and its a great idea. Just make sure you use thread sealant on the fittings to the heads.

I just went to Home depot and ran copper fittings with rubber hose. $8 fix and no leaks.

Feels good being a cheap ***.

People have done it.. It will cause overheating issues in a street car being that the lt1 is reverse cooled

^ X 2. It is necessary, and it is necessary off the back of the heads, not on the front (like I started to do at first, DOH) because coolant flows from front to back, and will pick up steam pockets along the way. The crossover is there to carry those steam pockets back to the radiator.

^^ that's the route I'm going, a buddy gave me all the braided hose and 99% of the -an fittings. I just need a T fitting and I have to figure out how to connect it to the radiator. unless I can just slip it over the connector and use a hose clamp.

Default enough room

how much room is there up under the dash as this set up sticks out farther than the banjo bolts and original steam tube. does this set-up fit.
