Default Oil and trans temp gauge

I bought an autometer oil and trans temp gauge. Where is the best place to tap the temp sensors for these gauges into? My first thought is the oil and trans pan but if it's possible to do it somewhere else id like to do that instead of removing pans and drilling holes.

For the oil temp I used the hole above the oil filter 1/4 npt...not sure about the trans though.

For my trans gauge I had a nut welded to the pan. Good time to do a trans service when you have the pan off!

there is a spot on the trans that is by the bellhousing and above the shift cable. the sending unit for the trans temp gauge threads into it. I'll try n take a picture later to show you what i'm talking about

That would be awesome, doing that would make for a clean set up. Thanks!

yeah above the oil filter and above the shifter cable on the trans are the easiest spots. above the trans shifter cable is a little bolt plug. Just take it out and put in the sensor. no fluid leaks out of either spot.
